Thorough assessment and case discussion. Vet prescriptions and recommendations are coordinated after the consult, with follow-up.
Best for: Any mild to moderate health concern when no vet consults are available. A vet consult is recommended if the case is complex or urgent.
$99 plus tax
Text Consult

A text message chat-style appointment that follows a specific vet-mandated template, with written advice and prescriptions when appropriate.
Best for: Mild symptoms, requesting prescription refills if not already approved, test result discussions (test results not performed through Swiftail Vet are accepted.)

Tech Husbandry Consult

Covers wellness support, diet, husbandry, and new pet setups. No direct vet input.
Best for: Routine care, supplement questions, or husbandry help.

Pharmacy & Shipping: What to Expect
Because The Butterfly Vet is a Veterinary telemedicine service treating ALL species, our pharmacy process works a bit differently than a local walk-in clinic. Here is how we get your pet’s medication to you as quickly as possible:
When will my medication ship?
To ensure safety and legal compliance, medications are only compounded after the veterinarian has completed your consultation.
Consultation Day: The vet reviews the case and selects the specific formula.
Compounding: Exotic pets often require species specific medication dosages that are not available commercially. To ensure safe and accurate dosing, medications may be custom compounded and shipped directly to your door.
Shipping: Prescriptions are typically received by our pharmacy within 12 hours of the appointment. Delays in receiving critical information, such as an accurate pet weight, may delay prescription processing. Once received by the pharmacy, delivery typically takes 1–2 business days. Weekend and holiday delays should be expected.
In total, you should expect to receive your pet’s medications within 24-72 hours (2-3 business days)
Medications, external prescriptions, and medical records will not be released until all outstanding invoices have been paid in full. Delays in payment may result in delays in processing and shipping medications, including delays extending over weekends, holidays, and carrier transit times.
